FOOD PROCESSORS: A Strength-Based Group for Children & Youth Ages 5-17
Group therapy provides a unique space for participants to connect with peers who share similar experiences. Through this supportive environment, clients gain a sense of belonging, learn from one another, and practice valuable skills in a safe setting. Group members offer mutual support and encouragement, fostering normalization of feelings and experiences as they interact with their peers.
Why Bake?
The kitchen serves as a natural learning environment where participants discover the positive outcomes of combining "healthy life ingredients." With carefully curated recipes, children not only enhance existing skills but also develop new ones. Additionally, baking allows children to enjoy and share their creations with family and friends.
What to Expect in Group?
Themes and activities in the group are designed to promote self-actualization. Participants engage in discussions, interact with peers, and explore their creativity through cooking, baking, and various activities.
Who Attends?
Your child will attend each session, while you (Identified supports) will participate in the final group session. This shared experience aims to strengthen the bond between youth and their supports, creating lasting memories and reinforcing the relationship.
Cost and Funding:
The fee for the program is $480.00 ($60 per session), covering all materials and the treats made during each session. Payment is due before the first group session.
For funding options, please consult your Employee benefit plan, as coverage varies. If funded through FSCD, reach out to your Case Worker to discuss funding options.
