Welcome to my website!
Let me introduce myself:
I embarked on my post-secondary education journey at Medicine Hat College in 1992. Following that, I earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree, specializing in psychology and sociology, from the University of Lethbridge. With 19 years of experience in Alberta Health Services Addiction and Mental Health, I provided support to individuals of all ages, from children to adults, and families through both group and individual services. Finding immense satisfaction in helping others, I pursued further professional growth by completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2017. As a Registered Social Worker since 2000, I am authorized to offer restricted psychosocial interventions and hold certification as a therapeutic play consultant. Additionally, my expertise extends to EMDR therapy, in which I am experienced and offer related services.
Contributing to my community has always been a driving aspiration. In 2018, I established my own Private Practice. By December 2019, my husband and I acquired a house on Aberdeen Street, where we meticulously renovated to create a warm and welcoming office space. Situated on the South East hill in Medicine Hat, our office is surrounded by the charm of old brick apartments, historic homes, and local shops. The building, constructed in 1906, embodies strength, growth, wisdom, and resilience, holding a significant historical legacy. Through our restoration efforts, we've transformed it into a sanctuary dedicated to health and healing.
Off-duty, you'll find me immersed in a captivating book, tending to my yard, enjoying playful moments with my furry companions, or cherishing quality time with my incredible family.
